Peter: This is more humiliating than Family Parker game night.

Via gentlemen, suit up!

I know what you’re thinking: Spider-Man lives at home with his doting old Aunt? Loser! Think Again! My Aunt is pretty cool. She works all day, then Monday nights she’s at yoga, Tuesday it’s French cooking, Thursday is bowling. Her full schedule lets me come and go as I please. Of course I have to keep the Spidey stuff on the down low. There’s no way she’d approve of her ‘little Petey’ mixing it up with super villains!

This is going to sound extraordinarily corny, but even as a little kid I found Mulan extremely inspiring, especially at this part. Though back then I didn’t even know what “transsexual” even meant, some part of my unconscious that I was dimly aware of knew I should have been born male, so I identified with this movie on a level I wouldn’t even understand til much later.

This part especially, where everyone tells Mulan she can’t be a “man”, isn’t strong or fast enough, doesn’t live up to the stereotypes enough to fit the societal role of a “man”—then goes and defies them all, and proves them that even if she isn’t biologically male (though they don’t know that), she can still kick serious booty and proves she’s just as much of a “man” as anyone else.

I’ve gotten lots of that bullshit through life—especially from my family, telling me it’s all in my head and I’ll never really be a man, it gets frustrating—but I JUST THINK OF MULAN OK and know that one day I will sit atop that metaphorical wooden pole and throw down the metaphorical arrow and smugly go “hahaha!” at all those who doubted me.

Watching the wedding.

Peter watched quietly as the ceremony began, he had gotten there on time luckily despite all the home work he had to do, and the late night crime fighting the night before. He sat among the other heroes who were there to watch the wedding take place.

He chuckled as he saw Marya walk down the aisle trying to be graceful. Everyone looked wonderful on this day. After everything was said and done and the vows were spoken. Peter made his way to congratulate the newly wedded couple. Junior and Wanda smiled as he approached them. “Peter! So glad you could make it.” Junior grinned.

“I wouldn’t miss this for the world, guys.” Pete replied, with a smile. “You look beautiful.”

“Thanks” Junior said before Peter cut in, jokingly. “I was talking about Wanda.”

Wanda laughed. “Thank you.

“But really, you both look wonderful today. The wedding was lovely. Congrats guys.” Peter said going to give them both a quick hug.

“Thanks for coming Pete.” Junior said as Wanda nodded. Marya soon joined them. “Look! Uncle Peter!!!” Marya grinned, twirled, showing off her beautiful dress.

“Pretty! Your a little princess right?” Peter asked, laughing.

Marya giggled, shaking her head. “I am… But today I am a flower girl!” She insisted.

“A pretty little flower girl.” Wanda added, going to gently stroke her daughter’s hair.

“I’ll see you guys at the reception.” Peter soon said, smiling as a group of others came by to give their good wishes to them.

“See you then!” Junior said.

Peter soon walked off smiling. Secretly hopping that he was not stuck at the kiddies table at the party.
